Meet the Team

With more than 60 years’ experience, our team of lawyers provide the highest standard of advice and service in all practice areas.

Eustace Middleton and Michael Upsall opened an office in Warminster in January 1962 and started the firm of Middleton & Upsall. In 2006 the firm acquired a local firm Keith A Pearce and in 2010 an office in Westbury was opened. Middleton & Upsall merged with DBB of Andover and Stockbridge in 2016 and began trading as Middletons Solicitors.

Middletons Solicitors now have a team of lawyers providing reliable and trusted legal services across Wiltshire and Hampshire from our three offices in Warminster, Amesbury and Stockbridge.

Dispute Resolution

    Jenny McKellar

    PARTNER

    Jenny joined Middletons’ Dispute Resolution department in 2005. She is a Partner with over 30 years of experience in this field. Jenny specialises in disputes relating to Wills, Trusts and Probate, Professional Negligence claims, disputes relating to co-ownership of property as well as boundary and rights of way disputes. Jenny is assisted by Joanna Myles and Christine Dew.

    Oliver Thorp

    SOLICITOR

    Oliver joined Middletons in December 2025. He is a solicitor in the Dispute Resolution Department, specialising in property litigation and dispute resolution, an area of law he has worked in for over 12 years. He has experience in a wide range of commercial and residential matters, including possession proceedings, rent arrears, trespass, adverse possession claims, co-ownership disputes, boundaries, party walls, rights of way, rights to light, misrepresentation, lease renewals and extensions, enfranchisement, easements and restrictive covenants.

    Christine Dew

    LEGAL SECRETARY

    Christine joined Middletons in 2005. She  is a Legal Secretary in the Dispute Resolution Department where she provides invaluable secretarial support to Jenny McKellar as well as the other members of the Dispute Resolution team. Christine continues to provide secretarial support for the late Chris Jolly and his ongoing matters.

    TRAINEE PARALEGAL

    Joanna (Jo) has been working for Middletons since 2018 She is a trainee paralegal in the Dispute Resolution department where she works alongside Jenny McKellar as well as supporting other members of the department.

    Michelle Stopford

    SOLICITOR

    Michelle Stopford, Solicitor, is Head of the Private Client at Middletons Solicitors and started working with Middletons in 2003. Michelle specialises in Will and LPA drafting, Court of Protection matters, Trusts and Probate. Michelle has a bachelor’s degree in law and is a member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.

    Alexa Merchant

    SOLICITOR

    Alexa Merchant is a Solicitor specialising in Will and LPA drafting, Court of Protection matters and Probate. Alexa has been with Middletons Solicitors since March 2017. Alexa has a bachelor’s degree in law and qualified as a solicitor in September 2007. Alexa is a member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.

    Eleanor Shepherd

    SOLICITOR

    Eleanor Shepherd is a Solicitor specialising in Will and LPA drafting, Court of Protection matters, Trusts and Probate. Eleanor has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in law and qualified as a Solicitor in April 2023.  Eleanor joined our Private Client department in May 2022 and has been working in this area of law since 2018. Eleanor is a member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.

    Joanna Milner

    PRIVATE CLIENT EXECUTIVE

    Joanna Milner is a Private Client Executive based in our Amesbury and Stockbridge offices. Joanna specialises in Will writing and Lasting Powers of Attorney drawing from over 20 years of experience. Joanna has been working with Middletons Solicitors since June 2021.

    Lynette Arnott

    LEGAL SECRETARY

    Lynette Arnott is a Legal Secretary to Solicitor Michelle Stopford and Alexa Merchant. Lynette started with Middletons Solicitors in September 1999 as a secretary in the family department. Lynette then transitioned into the Private Client department in 2014.

    Lisa Airey

    LEGAL SECRETARY

    Lisa Airey is a Legal Secretary to Solicitor Eleanor Shepherd. Lisa has been with Middletons since July 2016, having been Secretary to Charles Goodbody until his retirement in August 2023. Lisa benefits from a range of administration skills having worked previously in estate agents, recruitment and construction.

    Alison Brockman

    PARTNER

    Alison is a Partner in our residential property team and deals with all aspects of residential property work.  Alison was one of the founding Partners of Brockmans Solicitors having opened that firm in Stockbridge in 1992.  Brockmans merged with Parkes Browne of Andover to form DBB solicitors before merging again with Middletons in 2016.

    Luke Mowbray

    PARTNER

    Luke is a Partner in our commercial property team.  He undertakes a broad range of property work including the sale and purchase of commercial property and development land, commercial leases (acting for both landlords and tenants), option agreements, overage (development clawback) agreements and planning agreements.

    Samuel Gauntlett

    PARTNER

    Samuel is a Partner based in our Warminster office. Prior to becoming a Partner, Samuel completed his master’s degree and qualified as a Solicitor whilst practicing as a Chartered Legal Executive. He undertakes a broad range of property work, relating to both commercial and residential property, dealing in both non-transactional matters such as financing, easements and Deeds of Trust and transactional matters.

    Ian Rhodes

    CHARTERED LEGAL EXECUTIVE

    Ian joined Middletons in 2024 and is a Chartered Legal Executive based in our Amesbury office. Ian has over 35-years’ experience specialising in Residential and Commercial Conveyancing and covers the full range of property matters.   Ian always aims to make his conveyancing matters run as smoothly and swiftly as possible to ensure that his clients have the best possible experience of what can be a complex and stressful process.

    Sandra Smith

    CONVEYANCING EXECUTIVE

    Sandra is a Conveyancing Executive based in our Warminster office. Sandra boasts over 40 years experience having previously moved to the south-west from London where she began working as a conveyancer in the 1980s. Sandra is a residential property expert who can assist with any nature of residential property matter. Sandra is well regarded by the local professional community and clients alike and has built a strong working relationship with many local estate agents.

    Caroline Mills

    CONVEYANCING EXECUTIVE

    Caroline is a Conveyancing Executive based in our Stockbridge office and has worked in conveyancing since 1983.  Caroline has extensive knowledge of the local area and is well known to local agents.

    PARALEGAL

    Rebecca joined Middletons in 2013 and is a CILEX Paralegal working in the commercial property team in our Stockbridge office.  Rebecca has over 22 years’ experience working in both the residential and commercial property sectors.

    Kim Dyer

    SENIOR CONVEYANCING ASSISTANT

    Kim is a Senior Conveyancing Assistant and works closely with Samuel Gauntlett. Kim has worked in law firms locally since the late 1980s and is experienced in all property matters, with a particular specialism in residential property transactions. Kim has strong local connections and encyclopaedic local knowledge which paired with her considerable experience make her a great asset to the property department.

    Eliza Gallagher

    CONVEYANCING ASSISTANT

    Eliza joined Middletons at the start of 2025. She is a Conveyancing Assistant working under Ian Rhodes, bringing valuable experience in supporting conveyancing transactions and clients from instruction to post-completion.

    Alison May

    LEGAL SECRETARY

    Alison first joined Middletons in 1979 for 4 years, before rejoining us in 2006. She is Sandra Smith’s secretary, prior to which she assisted many lawyers in the property department. Alison specialises is residential property matters and is very knowledgeable in this area of law providing invaluable support to the property fee earners.

    Laura is a Legal Secretary in our residential property team and has over 15 years’ experience in residential conveyancing.

    Tracy White

    RECEPTIONIST

    Tracy is a Receptionist at our Warminster office. Tracy started with Middletons as a Conveyancing Legal Secretary but has more recently moved roles to become a Receptionist and has taken on the role with much aplomb.

    LEGAL SECRETARY AND RECEPTIONIST

    Shaydene is a legal Secretary and Receptionist at our Amesbury office. Shaydene worked at a law firm in Surrey before moving to Wiltshire and joining Middletons. Shaydene assists all departments at the Amesbury office.

    Chloë is an Administrative Assistant, working closely with our Accounts team. She first joined Middletons over seven years ago, gaining valuable experience and contributing to the team before taking time off to raise her two children.
