Rented Housing Rent Control Considered by Committee | Middletons Law | Andover Solicitors
Rent control is one several ideas being considered by a Commons Select Committee looking into the quality and regulation of rented housing.
The committee is inviting interested parties to submit views on issues such as the quality of rented housing and how to ensure that standards remain acceptable.
It will look at levels of rent, the possibility of rent control and the regulation of landlords and letting agents.
Issues such as tenancy agreements, homelessness, the interaction between housing benefits and rent, and the length and security of tenure are also likely to come under the microscope.
Submissions can be made to the Department for Communities and Local Government Select Committee until 17th January 2013.
